The Streep Mine, nestled in the picturesque Goboboseb Mountains of Namibia, is a true paradise for mineral enthusiasts and collectors of rare gemstones. This remote region in the heart of the Namib Desert is world-renowned for its geological diversity and spectacular finds. Anyone seeking extraordinary minerals with a fascinating history is guaranteed to find something in this collection.

Geological Wonderland: The Goboboseb Region

The Goboboseb Mountains in the Erongo region are known for their volcanic rock formations and hydrothermal veins. Over millions of years, mineral-rich solutions in cavities created crystals of exceptional clarity and color intensity. The Streep Mine is one of the most important locations for rare quartz varieties such as harlequin quartz and enhydro quartz , which captivate collectors worldwide.

Mineral highlights of the Streep Mine

In this special mine, we find treasures that are unique in their combination and quality. Here is an overview of the mineralogical highlights you can discover with us:

• Amethyst & Quartz: The violet amethyst from Goboboseb impresses with deep, rich tones and often forms impressive crystal groups, frequently in attractive combination with milky quartz.
• Prehnite: This light green mineral often forms botryoidal aggregates and is found in the Streep Mine in an exceptional quality that is highly valued among connoisseurs.
• Analcime: The snow-white or transparent analcime crystals in a distinctive cube shape are a true trademark of this mine and highly sought after by systematic collectors.
• Harlequin quartz: Inclusions of hematite or lepidocrocite create colorful, dot-like patterns that look like small red sparks inside the crystal, giving each piece a unique appearance.
• UV Calcite: A highlight for lovers of luminescent minerals – this calcite shows a fascinating fluorescence under UV light.
• Enhydro quartz: These unique quartz crystals contain trapped “primordial water” – a fascinating testament to Earth’s history, which can be seen in the form of a movable water bubble in the crystal.

Why are Goboboseb minerals so special?

The minerals from the Streep Mine are not only visually stunning but also of great scientific interest. The complex combination of epidote, hematite, and quartz reflects the geochemical processes of the region. Due to their rarity and often perfect crystal formation, many specimens are also considered a stable investment for discerning collectors.

Whether as a natural collector's item, energetic companion or decorative work of natural art – the minerals from the Streep Mine combine the rugged beauty of the desert with crystalline perfection.
